Olympia is the State Capital of Washington, located at the southern tip of the Puget Sound, and straddling the Interstate 5 corridor, Olympia and the surrounding communities of Tumwater, Lacey and Yelm, have grown fantastically in just the past few years, with Thurston County being the fastest growing in the state.
Although an urban center, home to the State Capitol and the County Seat, Olympia still has many rural characteristics. Many Olympia mailing addresses are actually farms and larger parcels. Olympia borders the Olympic National Forest, and numerous other parks, recreation areas and public facilities, yet is less than an hour’s drive to downtown Seattle.
